וַֽיְהִי דְּבַר־יְהֹוָה אֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּ הַנָּבִיא לֵאמֹֽר׃
Then came the word of the Lord to the prophet Yirmeyahu saying,

כֹּה־אָמַר יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל כֹּה תֹֽאמְרוּ אֶל־מֶלֶךְ יְהוּדָה הַשֹּׁלֵחַ אֶתְכֶם אֵלַי לְדׇרְשֵׁנִי הִנֵּה ׀ חֵיל פַּרְעֹה הַיֹּצֵא לָכֶם לְעֶזְרָה שָׁב לְאַרְצוֹ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
Thus says the Lord, the God of Yisra᾽el; Thus shall you say to the king of Yehuda, that sent you to me to inquire of me; Behold, Par῾o’s army, which is come out to help you, shall return to Miżrayim into their own land.

וְשָׁבוּ הַכַּשְׂדִּים וְנִלְחֲמוּ עַל־הָעִיר הַזֹּאת וּלְכָדֻהָ וּשְׂרָפֻהָ בָאֵֽשׁ׃ {פ}
And the Kasdim shall come back, and fight against this city, and take it, and burn it with fire.

שב לארצו מצרים. בספינות היו באים ורמז הקב"ה לים והציף עליו כמו נודות ואובות (כלומר נפוחות) דומות לעורות בני אדם אמרו זה לזה מה זאת אמרו אלו אבותינו שטבעום אבותיהם של אלו שאנו הולכים לעזרתם בים מיד שבו לארצם:
