כֹּה אָמַר יְהֹוָה הִנֵּה עַם בָּא מֵאֶרֶץ צָפוֹן וְגוֹי גָּדוֹל יֵעוֹר מִיַּרְכְּתֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃

הולכי רכיל. בין הנחשת והברזל מטילי איבה בין שני שרים שיש בהן כח להתגרות יחד כך שמעתי, ואני אומר הולכי רכיל הם וחזקים כנחשת וברזל להחזיק כזביהם, וי"ת רכיל זה ל' נוכל מהלכין בנכילו כמא דמערב נחש עם פרזלא, ונוכל הוא ל' מחשבה כמו ויתנכלו אותו להמיתו (בראשית ל״ז:י״ח):
נָחַר מַפֻּחַ (מאשתם) [מֵאֵשׁ תַּם] עֹפָרֶת לַשָּׁוְא צָרַף צָרוֹף וְרָעִים לֹא נִתָּֽקוּ׃

נחר מפוח. משל הוא כשצורפים כסף נופחין במפוח ונותנין תמיד עופרת בתוך הכור ומועיל לצרוף אבל אתם באתי לצרוף אתכם המפוח נחר ונחרך מכח האש ותם העופרת כולו, נחר לשון חרה אפו (איוב ל״ב:ב׳) ועצמי חרה מני חורב (שם ל) אישר"ש בלעז:
