And there came of the children of Binyamin and Yehuda to the stronghold, to David.

And there came of the children of Binyamin and Yehuda to the stronghold, to David.

Rashi

12:18

וַיֵּצֵא דָוִיד לִפְנֵיהֶם וַיַּעַן וַיֹּאמֶר לָהֶם אִם־לְשָׁלוֹם בָּאתֶם אֵלַי לְעׇזְרֵנִי יִֽהְיֶה־לִּי עֲלֵיכֶם לֵבָב לְיָחַד וְאִֽם־לְרַמּוֹתַנִי לְצָרַי בְּלֹא חָמָס בְּכַפַּי יֵרֶא אֱלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵינוּ וְיוֹכַֽח׃ {ס}

And David went out to meet them, and answered and said to them, If you are come peaceably to me to help me, my heart shall be knit to you: but if you are come to betray me to my enemies, seeing there is no wrong in my hands, then let the God of our fathers see, and rebuke you.

And David went out to meet them, and answered and said to them, If you are come peaceably to me to help me, my heart shall be knit to you: but if you are come to betray me to my enemies, seeing there is no wrong in my hands, then let the God of our fathers see, and rebuke you.

Rashi
