וּבְנֵי־גָד לְנֶגְדָּם יָשְׁבוּ בְּאֶרֶץ הַבָּשָׁן עַד־סַלְכָֽה׃
And the children of Gad dwelt opposite them, in the land of the Bashan as far as Salkha:

יוֹאֵל הָרֹאשׁ וְשָׁפָם הַמִּשְׁנֶה וְיַעְנַי וְשָׁפָט בַּבָּשָֽׁן׃

ואחיהם לבית אבותיהם. במקום יחוסן:
מיכאל ומשלם. אלו היו ראשי אבותיהם של אותו היחס כי כולם התיחסו בימי יותם מלך יהודה ובימי ירבעם מלך ישראל:
ובני גד לנגדם ישבו. אצלם כמו ואלכה לנגדך (ראשי' י"ג):
