וּפְקִיד הַלְוִיִּם בִּירוּשָׁלַ͏ִם עֻזִּי בֶן־בָּנִי בֶּן־חֲשַׁבְיָה בֶּן־מַתַּנְיָה בֶּן־מִיכָא מִבְּנֵי אָסָף הַמְשֹׁרְרִים לְנֶגֶד מְלֶאכֶת בֵּית־הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃
And appointed over the Levites in Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Buni the son of Matanyah the son of Michah, of the sons of Asaf, the singers, over the [external] work of the house of G-d [viz. 16].

לנגד מלאכת. על מלאכת הבית ממונה כגון בנייני בדק הבית ושאר דברים שמוציאין ממון למעשה (למעשר) הבית כענין שנאמר למעלה ושבתי ויוזבד על המלאכה החיצונה וגו':

כי מצות המלך עליהם. והמלך היה מאמין בהם:

על המשוררים. להוציא ממון מאוצר המלך דריוש:

דבר יום ביומו. כדי לעשות צרכי הבית:
for the daily requirements in order to perform the requirements of the Temple.
וּפְתַֽחְיָה בֶן־מְשֵֽׁיזַבְאֵל מִבְּנֵי־זֶרַח בֶּן־יְהוּדָה לְיַד הַמֶּלֶךְ לְכׇל־דָּבָר לָעָֽם׃

ליד המלך. הוא היה מצרן לעצת המלך דריוש:
