כִּי כֹה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה (ועשית) [וְעָשִׂיתִי] אוֹתָךְ כַּאֲשֶׁר עָשִׂית אֲשֶׁר־בָּזִית אָלָה לְהָפֵר בְּרִֽית׃
For thus says the Lord God; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, for thou hast despised the oath in breaking the covenant.

אשר בזית אלה וגו'. אותה שקבלת עליך בחורב לעברך בברית ה' אלהיך וגו' (דברים כ"ט) אך לא אפיר אני את הברית מלזוכרו כי אין אני כמותך:
וְזָכַרְתִּי אֲנִי אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אוֹתָךְ בִּימֵי נְעוּרָיִךְ וַהֲקִימוֹתִי לָךְ בְּרִית עוֹלָֽם׃
Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.

וזכרתי אני את בריתי. אשר היה עמך בימי נעוריך:
וְזָכַרְתְּ אֶת־דְּרָכַיִךְ וְנִכְלַמְתְּ בְּקַחְתֵּךְ אֶת־אֲחוֹתַיִךְ הַגְּדֹלוֹת מִמֵּךְ אֶל־הַקְּטַנּוֹת מִמֵּךְ וְנָתַתִּי אֶתְהֶן לָךְ לְבָנוֹת וְלֹא מִבְּרִיתֵֽךְ׃
Then thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed, when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thy elder and thy younger: and I will give them to thee for daughters, but not on account of the covenant with thee.

וזכרת. בהטיבי לך את דרכיך הרעי' ונכלמת מלפני על שגמלת לי רעה ואני גומלך טובה:
בקחתך את אחותיך. כשתכבשי לירש את מקומות אשר סביבותיך הקטנות והגדולות:
לבנות. לפרוורים לך משועבדים לך כמו סדום ובנותיה וכפרנהא:
ולא מבריתך. ולא משמרך את הברית אשר כרתי אתך אלא בחסדי וברחמי שאני שומר את בריתי, ומדרש אגדה דרבי תנחומא ולא מבריתך לא מפטרמוני"א שליך לא נתתיה לאברהם אביך בין הבתרים וזה הלשון קרוב ללע"ז שכן קורין עתה לקרבות פטרא"מוניא בלע"ז וכן קורין כל דבר שיש לו לאדם מנחלת אבותיו:
וַהֲקִימֹתִי אֲנִי אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אִתָּךְ וְיָדַעַתְּ כִּֽי־אֲנִי יְהֹוָֽה׃

לְמַעַן תִּזְכְּרִי וָבֹשְׁתְּ וְלֹא יִֽהְיֶה־לָּךְ עוֹד פִּתְחוֹן פֶּה מִפְּנֵי כְּלִמָּתֵךְ בְּכַפְּרִי־לָךְ לְכׇל־אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂית נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִֽה׃ {פ}

למען תזכרי. דרכך בהטיבי לך:
ובושת. להרים פניך אלי:
בכפרי לך. בסלחי לך, את אשר עשית תבושי ותדעי כי לא מגמולך הטוב הטיבותי לך:
ועשיתי אותך וגו'. עשיתי לך רעה כגמולך אשר עשית:
