לָכֵן כֹּה־אָמַר ׀ אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה הִנְנִי אֶל־פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִם וְשָֽׁבַרְתִּי אֶת־זְרֹעֹתָיו אֶת־הַחֲזָקָה וְאֶת־הַנִּשְׁבָּרֶת וְהִפַּלְתִּי אֶת־הַחֶרֶב מִיָּדֽוֹ׃
Therefore thus says the Lord God; Behold, I am against Par῾o king of Miżrayim and will break his arms, the strong, and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

וַהֲפִצוֹתִי אֶת־מִצְרַיִם בַּגּוֹיִם וְזֵרִיתִם בָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃
And I will scatter Miżrayim among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.

וְחִזַּקְתִּי אֶת־זְרֹעוֹת מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל וְנָתַתִּי אֶת־חַרְבִּי בְּיָדוֹ וְשָֽׁבַרְתִּי אֶת־זְרֹעוֹת פַּרְעֹה וְנָאַק נַאֲקוֹת חָלָל לְפָנָֽיו׃
And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Bavel, and put my sword in his hand: but I will break Par῾o’s arms, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of deadly wounded man.

וחזקתי. לשון חוזק:
וְהַחֲזַקְתִּי אֶת־זְרֹעוֹת מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל וּזְרֹעוֹת פַּרְעֹה תִּפֹּלְנָה וְֽיָדְעוּ כִּי־אֲנִי יְהֹוָה בְּתִתִּי חַרְבִּי בְּיַד מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶל וְנָטָה אוֹתָהּ אֶל־אֶרֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
Thus I will strengthen the arms of the king of Bavel, and the arms of Par῾o shall fall down; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall put my sword into the hand of the king of Bavel, and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Miżrayim.

והחזקתי. ל' אחיזה שאוחז בידו לסמיכה שלא תפול וסופו יוכיח וזרועות פרעה תפולנה שאינו אוחז בהן:
וַהֲפִצוֹתִי אֶת־מִצְרַיִם בַּגּוֹיִם וְזֵרִיתִי אוֹתָם בָּאֲרָצוֹת וְיָדְעוּ כִּֽי־אֲנִי יְהֹוָֽה׃ {פ}

ושברתי את זרועותיו. אשבור את השנית ותהיינה שתיהן שבורות כלומר כבר לקח מלך בבל מצד הא' עוד אמסור לו יתר המלכות כולו:
