30:1

וַיְהִי דְבַר־יְהֹוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֹֽר׃

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

30:2

בֶּן־אָדָם הִנָּבֵא וְאָמַרְתָּ כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה הֵילִילוּ הָהּ לַיּֽוֹם׃

Son of man, prophesy and say, Thus says the Lord God; Howl, Alas for the day!

Rashi

הה. כמו אהה הה ליום העתיד לבא על אותן העכו"ם:

30:3

כִּֽי־קָרוֹב יוֹם וְקָרוֹב יוֹם לַֽיהֹוָה יוֹם עָנָן עֵת גּוֹיִם יִהְיֶֽה׃

For the day is near, even the day of the Lord is near, a cloudy day; it shall be the time of the nations.

עת גוים. עידן תבר עממיא:

30:4

וּבָאָה חֶרֶב בְּמִצְרַיִם וְהָיְתָה חַלְחָלָה בְּכוּשׁ בִּנְפֹל חָלָל בְּמִצְרָיִם וְלָקְחוּ הֲמוֹנָהּ וְנֶהֶרְסוּ יְסֹדוֹתֶֽיהָ׃

And the sword shall come upon Miżrayim, and anguish shall be in Kush, when the slain shall fall in Miżrayim, and they shall take away her multitude, and her foundations shall be broken down.

Rashi

והיתה חלחלה בכוש. ל' רעד כשישמעו מפלת מצרים יחרדו לנפשם פן יעלה מלך בבל עליהם:

30:5

כּוּשׁ וּפוּט וְלוּד וְכׇל־הָעֶרֶב וְכוּב וּבְנֵי אֶרֶץ הַבְּרִית אִתָּם בַּחֶרֶב יִפֹּֽלוּ׃ {פ}

Kush, and Put, and Lud, and all ῾Erev, and Kuv, and the men of the land that is in league (with them,) shall fall with them by the sword.

Rashi

וכל הערב. ת"י וכל סומכוותא כל העורבים ערובת מצרים גרנסי"אה בלע"ז:

ארץ הברית. כורתי ברית למצרים לעזור לה:

30:6

כֹּה אָמַר יְהֹוָה וְנָֽפְלוּ סֹמְכֵי מִצְרַיִם וְיָרַד גְּאוֹן עֻזָּהּ מִמִּגְדֹּל סְוֵנֵה בַּחֶרֶב יִפְּלוּ־בָהּ נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִֽה׃

Thus says the Lord; They also that uphold Miżrayim shall fall; and the pride of her power shall come down: from Migdol to Seven shall they fall in it by the sword, says the Lord God.

30:7

וְנָשַׁמּוּ בְּתוֹךְ אֲרָצוֹת נְשַׁמּוֹת וְעָרָיו בְּתוֹךְ־עָרִים נַחֲרָבוֹת תִּֽהְיֶֽינָה׃

And they shall be desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate, and her cities shall be (wasted) in the midst of the cities that are wasted.

30:8

וְיָדְעוּ כִּֽי־אֲנִי יְהֹוָה בְּתִתִּי־אֵשׁ בְּמִצְרַיִם וְנִשְׁבְּרוּ כׇּל־עֹזְרֶֽיהָ׃

And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I have set a fire in Miżrayim, and when all her helpers shall be destroyed.

בתתי אש. חמתי כאש:

30:9

בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא יֵצְאוּ מַלְאָכִים מִלְּפָנַי בַּצִּים לְהַחֲרִיד אֶת־כּוּשׁ בֶּטַח וְהָיְתָה חַלְחָלָה בָהֶם בְּיוֹם מִצְרַיִם כִּי הִנֵּה בָּאָֽה׃ {ס}

On that day shall messengers go from me in ships to terrify the confident men of Kush, and anguish shall come upon them, as in the day of Miżrayim: for, lo, it comes.

Rashi

מלאכים מלפני. גדודי גייסות הולכים בשליחותי בשיירות רבות להחריד את כוש היושבת בטח:

בצים. כמו וצים מיד כתים (במדבר כ״ד:כ״ד) וכן תרגמו יונתן בלגיונין:

30:10

כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי אֶת־הֲמוֹן מִצְרַיִם בְּיַד נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּר מֶלֶךְ־בָּבֶֽל׃

Thus says the Lord God; I will also put an end to the multitude of Miżrayim by the hand of Nevukhadreżżar king of Bavel.

30:11

הוּא וְעַמּוֹ אִתּוֹ עָרִיצֵי גוֹיִם מוּבָאִים לְשַׁחֵת הָאָרֶץ וְהֵרִיקוּ חַרְבוֹתָם עַל־מִצְרַיִם וּמָלְאוּ אֶת־הָאָרֶץ חָלָֽל׃

He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and they shall draw their swords against Miżrayim; and fill the land with the slain.

30:12

וְנָתַתִּי יְאֹרִים חׇֽרָבָה וּמָכַרְתִּי אֶת־הָאָרֶץ בְּיַד־רָעִים וַהֲשִׁמֹּתִי אֶרֶץ וּמְלֹאָהּ בְּיַד־זָרִים אֲנִי יְהֹוָה דִּבַּֽרְתִּי׃ {ס}

And I will make the streams dry, and sell the land into the hand of the wicked: and I will make the land desolate, and all that is in it, by the hand of strangers: I the Lord have spoken it.

ונתתי יאורים. ארץ היאורים היא מצרים:

ומכרתי. כתרגומו ואימסר:

30:13

כֹּֽה־אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה וְהַאֲבַדְתִּי גִלּוּלִים וְהִשְׁבַּתִּי אֱלִילִים מִנֹּף וְנָשִׂיא מֵאֶֽרֶץ־מִצְרַיִם לֹא יִֽהְיֶה־עוֹד וְנָתַתִּי יִרְאָה בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃

Thus says the Lord God; I will also destroy the idols, and I will put an end to the images of Nof; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Miżrayim: and I will put a fear in the land of Miżrayim.

30:14

וַֽהֲשִׁמֹּתִי אֶת־פַּתְרוֹס וְנָתַתִּי אֵשׁ בְּצֹעַן וְעָשִׂיתִי שְׁפָטִים בְּנֹֽא׃

And I will make Patros desolate, and will set fire in Żo῾an, and will execute judgments in No.

Rashi

ועשיתי שפטים בנא. אלכסנדריא:

30:15

וְשָׁפַכְתִּי חֲמָתִי עַל־סִין מָעוֹז מִצְרָיִם וְהִכְרַתִּי אֶת־הֲמוֹן נֹֽא׃

And I will pour my fury upon Sin, the strength of Miżrayim; and I will cut off the multitude of No.

30:16

וְנָתַתִּי אֵשׁ בְּמִצְרַיִם חוּל (תחיל) [תָּחוּל] סִין וְנֹא תִּֽהְיֶה לְהִבָּקֵעַ וְנֹף צָרֵי יוֹמָֽם׃

And I will set a fire in Miżrayim: Sin shall be in great agony, and No shall be rent asunder, and Nof shall have enemies by day.

להבקע. חומתה תבקע:

צרי יומם. צרים יבאו עליה יום יום:

30:17

בַּחוּרֵי אָוֶן וּפִי־בֶסֶת בַּחֶרֶב יִפֹּלוּ וְהֵנָּה בַּשְּׁבִי תֵלַֽכְנָה׃

The young men of Aven and of Pi-veset shall fall by the sword: and these cities shall go into captivity.

Rashi

והנה בשבי תלכנה. שתיהן המדינות און ופיבסת:

30:18

וּבִֽתְחַפְנְחֵס חָשַׂךְ הַיּוֹם בְּשִׁבְרִי־שָׁם אֶת־מֹטוֹת מִצְרַיִם וְנִשְׁבַּת־בָּהּ גְּאוֹן עֻזָּהּ הִיא עָנָן יְכַסֶּנָּה וּבְנוֹתֶיהָ בַּשְּׁבִי תֵלַֽכְנָה׃

At Teĥafneĥes also the day shall be darkened, when I shall break there the yokes of Miżrayim: and the pomp of her strength shall cease in her: as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity.

חשך היום. ימנע האור:

ענן יכסנה. צרה תבוא עליה ותכסנה ותחשך כיום כסוי הענן:

ובנותיה. וכפרנהא:

30:19

וְעָשִׂיתִי שְׁפָטִים בְּמִצְרָיִם וְיָדְעוּ כִּֽי־אֲנִי יְהֹוָֽה׃ {פ}

Thus will I execute judgments in Miżrayim: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

30:20

וַיְהִי בְּאַחַת עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה בָּרִאשׁוֹן בְּשִׁבְעָה לַחֹדֶשׁ הָיָה דְבַר־יְהֹוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֹֽר׃

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, on the seventh day of the month, that the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

30:21

בֶּן־אָדָם אֶת־זְרוֹעַ פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִם שָׁבָרְתִּי וְהִנֵּה לֹֽא־חֻבְּשָׁה לָתֵת רְפֻאוֹת לָשׂוּם חִתּוּל לְחׇבְשָׁהּ לְחׇזְקָהּ לִתְפֹּשׂ בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ {ס}

Son of man, I have broken the arm of Par῾o king of Miżrayim; and, lo, it has not been bound up to be healed, to put a dressing to bind it, to make it strong to hold the sword.

את זרוע פרעה מלך מצרים שברתי. כבר פעם אחרת שנתתי חילו ביד נבוכדנצר בשנה הרביעית ליהויקים כמה שנאמר בספר (ירמיהו מ״ו:ב׳) למצרים על חיל פרעה נכה מלך מצרים אשר היה בכרכמיש על נהר פרת אשר הכה נבוכדנצר וגומר:

והנה לא חובשה. מאותו היום והלאה כמה שנאמ' בספר מלכים (מלכים ב כ״ד:ז׳) בסופו ולא יסף עוד מלך מצרים לצאת מארצו כי לקח מלך בבל מנהר פרת עד נחל מצרים ובסגנון זה נתנבא ירמי' גם הוא על אותה המכה בלשון רפואה אין לה שנאמר (ירמיהו מ״ו:י״א) עלי גלעד וקחי צרי בתולת בת מצרים לשוא הרבית רפואות תעלה אין לך:

לא חובשה. ל' קשירה שקושרין עצם הנשבר:

לשום חתול. מעשה בגדים ורטייה כמו (לעיל טז) והחתל לא חתלת:

לתפוש בחרב. שיהא לו עוד כח להלחם:

30:22

לָכֵן כֹּה־אָמַר ׀ אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה הִנְנִי אֶל־פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִם וְשָֽׁבַרְתִּי אֶת־זְרֹעֹתָיו אֶת־הַחֲזָקָה וְאֶת־הַנִּשְׁבָּרֶת וְהִפַּלְתִּי אֶת־הַחֶרֶב מִיָּדֽוֹ׃

Therefore thus says the Lord God; Behold, I am against Par῾o king of Miżrayim and will break his arms, the strong, and that which was broken; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand.

Rashi

ושברתי את זרועותיו. אשבור את השנית ותהיינה שתיהן שבורות כלומר כבר לקח מלך בבל מצד הא' עוד אמסור לו יתר המלכות כולו:

30:23

וַהֲפִצוֹתִי אֶת־מִצְרַיִם בַּגּוֹיִם וְזֵרִיתִם בָּאֲרָצֽוֹת׃

And I will scatter Miżrayim among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries.

30:24

וְחִזַּקְתִּי אֶת־זְרֹעוֹת מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל וְנָתַתִּי אֶת־חַרְבִּי בְּיָדוֹ וְשָֽׁבַרְתִּי אֶת־זְרֹעוֹת פַּרְעֹה וְנָאַק נַאֲקוֹת חָלָל לְפָנָֽיו׃

And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Bavel, and put my sword in his hand: but I will break Par῾o’s arms, and he shall groan before him with the groanings of deadly wounded man.

Rashi

וחזקתי. לשון חוזק:

30:25

וְהַחֲזַקְתִּי אֶת־זְרֹעוֹת מֶלֶךְ בָּבֶל וּזְרֹעוֹת פַּרְעֹה תִּפֹּלְנָה וְֽיָדְעוּ כִּי־אֲנִי יְהֹוָה בְּתִתִּי חַרְבִּי בְּיַד מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶל וְנָטָה אוֹתָהּ אֶל־אֶרֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃

Thus I will strengthen the arms of the king of Bavel, and the arms of Par῾o shall fall down; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall put my sword into the hand of the king of Bavel, and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Miżrayim.

Rashi

והחזקתי. ל' אחיזה שאוחז בידו לסמיכה שלא תפול וסופו יוכיח וזרועות פרעה תפולנה שאינו אוחז בהן:

30:26

וַהֲפִצוֹתִי אֶת־מִצְרַיִם בַּגּוֹיִם וְזֵרִיתִי אוֹתָם בָּאֲרָצוֹת וְיָדְעוּ כִּֽי־אֲנִי יְהֹוָֽה׃ {פ}

And I will scatter Miżrayim among the nations, and disperse them among the countries; and they shall know that I am the Lord.
