לָכֵן כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה עַתָּה אָשִׁיב אֶת־(שבית) [שְׁבוּת] יַעֲקֹב וְרִחַמְתִּי כׇּל־בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל וְקִנֵּאתִי לְשֵׁם קׇדְשִֽׁי׃
Therefore thus says the Lord God; Now will I bring back the captivity of Ya῾aqov, and have mercy upon the whole house of Yisra᾽el, and will be zealous for my holy name;

וקנאתי לשם קדשי. בשביל שם קדשי כמו המקנא אתה לי (מדבר יא):
וְנָשׂוּ אֶת־כְּלִמָּתָם וְאֶת־כׇּל־מַעֲלָם אֲשֶׁר מָעֲלוּ־בִי בְּשִׁבְתָּם עַל־אַדְמָתָם לָבֶטַח וְאֵין מַחֲרִֽיד׃
and they will be quit of their shame, and of all their faithlessness in which they have been faithless to me, when they dwell securely on their land, with none to make them afraid.

ונשו את כלימתם. בהיטיבי להם ולא אגמלם כרעתם אז ישאו כלימתם ויבושו מלהרים פנים ומנחם פי' ונשו כמו (תהילים ל״ב:א׳) אשרי נשוי פשע לשון כפרה:
בְּשׁוֹבְבִי אוֹתָם מִן־הָעַמִּים וְקִבַּצְתִּי אֹתָם מֵאַרְצוֹת אֹיְבֵיהֶם וְנִקְדַּשְׁתִּי בָם לְעֵינֵי הַגּוֹיִם רַבִּֽים׃
When I have brought them back from the peoples, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;

וְיָדְעוּ כִּי אֲנִי יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיהֶם בְּהַגְלוֹתִי אֹתָם אֶל־הַגּוֹיִם וְכִנַּסְתִּים עַל־אַדְמָתָם וְלֹא־אוֹתִיר עוֹד מֵהֶם שָֽׁם׃

ולא אותיר. אחד מהם בגולה:
וְלֹא־אַסְתִּיר עוֹד פָּנַי מֵהֶם אֲשֶׁר שָׁפַכְתִּי אֶת־רוּחִי עַל־בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִֽה׃ {פ}
Nor will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Yisra᾽el, says the Lord God.

וקנאתי לשם קדשי. ולבשתי קנאת תשועה ונקם למען שם קדשי שלא יתחלל עוד:
