וְאַתָּה בֶן־אָדָם קַח־לְךָ לְבֵנָה וְנָתַתָּה אוֹתָהּ לְפָנֶיךָ וְחַקּוֹתָ עָלֶיהָ עִיר אֶת־יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
Thou also, son of man, take thee a brick, and lay it before thee, and trace upon it a city, namely, Yerushalayim:

וְנָתַתָּה עָלֶיהָ מָצוֹר וּבָנִיתָ עָלֶיהָ דָּיֵק וְשָׁפַכְתָּ עָלֶיהָ סֹלְלָה וְנָתַתָּה עָלֶיהָ מַחֲנוֹת וְשִׂים־עָלֶיהָ כָּרִים סָבִֽיב׃
and lay siege against it, and build a siege wall against it, and cast a mound against it; set camps also against it, and set battering rams against it round about.

דיק. מגוניי"ל בלע"ז שמשליכין בו אבנים לעיר:
סוללה. שופך עפר וסוללו וכובשו במקלות ועושה תל גבוה לעמוד עליו ולראות בתוך העיר ולירות בחצי':

ושים עליה כרים. ת"י איפרורין והם כפרים שעושים חיילותיו ויושבי' באהלי' לרוחות העיר שלא יהא אדם יוצא ובא ופירוש כרים שרים ממונים על הצב' זה שומר לרוח זה וזה לרוח זה:
וְאַתָּה קַח־לְךָ מַחֲבַת בַּרְזֶל וְנָתַתָּה אוֹתָהּ קִיר בַּרְזֶל בֵּינְךָ וּבֵין הָעִיר וַהֲכִינֹתָה אֶת־פָּנֶיךָ אֵלֶיהָ וְהָיְתָה בַמָּצוֹר וְצַרְתָּ עָלֶיהָ אוֹת הִיא לְבֵית יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ {פ}
And take thou an iron pan, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city: and set thy face towards it, and it shall be besieged, and thou shalt lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Yisra᾽el.

לבנה. טויל"ה בלע"ז ויש מהם שהם גדולות:
