כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה גֵּה גְבוּל אֲשֶׁר תִּתְנַחֲלוּ אֶת־הָאָרֶץ לִשְׁנֵי עָשָׂר שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל יוֹסֵף חֲבָלִֽים׃
Thus says the Lord God; This shall be the border, according to which you shall divide the land for inheritance to the twelve tribes of Yisra᾽el: Yosef shall have two portions.

יוסף חבלים. יוסף יטול שני חלקים אחד למנשה ואחד לאפרים:
וּנְחַלְתֶּם אוֹתָהּ אִישׁ כְּאָחִיו אֲשֶׁר נָשָׂאתִי אֶת־יָדִי לְתִתָּהּ לַאֲבֹֽתֵיכֶם וְנָפְלָה הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת לָכֶם בְּנַחֲלָֽה׃
And you shall inherit it, one as well as another: that concerning which I lifted up my hand to give it to your fathers: and this land shall fall to you for inheritance.

איש כאחיו. לא כהראשונה איש לפי פקודיו אלא עכשיו כל השבטים שוין וכמין שורת הכרם כל חלק וחלק מן הגבול המזרחי עד ים אוקיינוס למערב כמו שמפורש בענין ואין שני שבטים ברצועה אחת:
וְזֶה גְּבוּל הָאָרֶץ לִפְאַת צָפוֹנָה מִן־הַיָּם הַגָּדוֹל הַדֶּרֶךְ חֶתְלֹן לְבוֹא צְדָֽדָה׃

וזה גבול הארץ. תחומי מצרי ארץ ישראל:
לפאת צפונה. רוח צפונית:
מן הים הגדול. שהוא גבול למערב:
הדרך חתלון. בא לו לצד מזרח אל חתלון ואל צדדה ואל חמת וברותה וסברים כל העיירות הללו במצר צפון:
חֲמָת ׀ בֵּרוֹתָה סִבְרַיִם אֲשֶׁר בֵּין־גְּבוּל דַּמֶּשֶׂק וּבֵין גְּבוּל חֲמָת חָצֵר הַתִּיכוֹן אֲשֶׁר אֶל־גְּבוּל חַוְרָֽן׃
Ḥamat, Berota, Sivrayim, which is between the border of Dammeseq and the border of Ḥamat; the middle Ḥażer, which is by the border of Ḥavran.

וְהָיָה גְבוּל מִן־הַיָּם חֲצַר עֵינוֹן גְּבוּל דַּמֶּשֶׂק וְצָפוֹן ׀ צָפוֹנָה וּגְבוּל חֲמָת וְאֵת פְּאַת צָפֽוֹן׃
And the border from the sea shall be Ḥażar-῾enon, the border of Dammeseq, and the north northward, and the border of Ḥamat. That is the north side.

גבול דמשק. שהוא בגבול דמשק שחצר עינן במקצוע צפונית מזרחית כמו שמפורש בגבולין שכתב מרע"ה (במדבר ל״ד:י׳) והיו תוצאותיו חצר עינן וגו' והתאויתם לכם לגבול קדמה מחצר עינן וגו' גבול דמשק במקצוע צפונית מזרחית אצל חצר עינן כמו שאמור למעלה חצר עינון וגבול דמשק. וגבול חמת במקצוע צפונית מערבית שנאמר (שם) זה יהיה לכם גבול צפון מן הים הגדול תתאו לכם הר ההר מהר ההר תתאו לבא חמת ומשם צדדה:
וצפון צפונה וגבול חמת. כלומר כל מצר הצפון המפורש בתורה וגבול חמת שאף היא במצר הצפון כמו שנאמר (שם) וזה יהיה לכם גבול צפון מן הים הגדול תתאו לכם הר ההר מהר ההר תתאו לבוא חמת והיו תוצאות הגבול צדדה היא צדדה האמור כאן הדרך חתלון לבוא צדדה:

וּפְאַת קָדִים מִבֵּין חַוְרָן וּמִבֵּין־דַּמֶּשֶׂק וּמִבֵּין הַגִּלְעָד וּמִבֵּין אֶרֶץ יִשְׂרָאֵל הַיַּרְדֵּן מִגְּבוּל עַל־הַיָּם הַקַּדְמוֹנִי תָּמֹדּוּ וְאֵת פְּאַת קָדִֽימָה׃
And the east side, between Ḥavran, and Dammeseq and Gil῾ad, and between the land of Yisra᾽el and the Yarden, from the border to the eastern sea shall you measure. That is the east side.

ומבין הגלעד ומבין א"י. מצר מזרחי של ארץ כנען ואין עבר הירדן בתוך מצרים הללו כי אם ארץ כנען לבדה וכן בגבולין הממוצרים בתורה אין עבר הירדן בתוכם וכן פירוש המקרא הזה ומצר מזרחי לארץ כנען אשר בין חורן ודמשק העומדין לה במקצוע צפונית מזרחית כמו שאמור למעלה בענין ובין הגלעד וארץ ישראל אשר בעבר הירדן מזרחה:
הירדן מגבול על הים הקדמוני תמודו. הירדן הוא מצר מזרחי שלה מגבול מקצוע הצפון הוא חצר עינן המפורש למעלה עד הים הקדמוני הוא ים המלח שהוא במקצוע דרומית מזרחית תמודו אורך מצר מזרחי ואף בתורה כך מפורש בגבול קדמה והיו תוצאותיו ים המלח במקצוע דרומית:
ואת פאת קדימה. כלומר והרי לך פאת קדים:
וּפְאַת נֶגֶב תֵּימָנָה מִתָּמָר עַד־מֵי מְרִיבוֹת קָדֵשׁ נַחֲלָה אֶל־הַיָּם הַגָּדוֹל וְאֵת פְּאַת־תֵּימָנָה נֶֽגְבָּה׃
And the Negev side southward from Tamar to the waters of Merivot-qadesh to the wadi, as far as the great sea. That is the south side towards the Negev.

מתמר. מיריחו שהיא עיר התמרים וכן ת"י:
עד מי מריבת קדש. היא מדבר צין:
נחלה אל הים הגדול. ומשם הולך הגבול עד נחל מצרים הנופל בים הגדול במקצוע דרומית מערבית ואף משה כך נתן גבול נגב ממדבר צין על ידי אדום ומונה והולך עד מעצמון נחל מצרים והיו תוצאותיו הימה ונחלה האמור כאן כמו לנחלה ומצאתי מתורג' אחסנא ואם לא שהטעם למטה וראיתי נחלה מצרים שהטעם למעלה ומסורת עליו לית בטעמא הייתי אומר שיבוש הוא ולא תירגם יונתן כן כי אם קוראים טועים:
וּפְאַת־יָם הַיָּם הַגָּדוֹל מִגְּבוּל עַד־נֹכַח לְבוֹא חֲמָת זֹאת פְּאַת־יָֽם׃

הים הגדול מגבול עד נוכח לבוא חמת. ממקצוע דרומית האמור למעל' והוא נחל מצרים:

וְחִלַּקְתֶּם אֶת־הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת לָכֶם לְשִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
So shall you divide this land for yourselves according to the tribes of Yisra᾽el.

And it shall come to pass, that you shall divide it by lot for an inheritance to you, and to the strangers that sojourn among you, who shall beget children among you: and they shall be to you as those born in the country among the children of Yisra᾽el; they shall have inheritance with you among the tribes of Yisra᾽el.
