וְהָיָה בְּיוֹם הָנִיחַ יְהֹוָה לְךָ מֵֽעׇצְבְּךָ וּמִֽרׇגְזֶךָ וּמִן־הָעֲבֹדָה הַקָּשָׁה אֲשֶׁר עֻבַּד־בָּֽךְ׃
And it shall come to pass on the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage in which thou wast made to serve,

לקראת באך. כשתרד לגיהנם ומה היא הרגזה לעורר לקראתם:

כל עתודי ארץ. כל מלכי העכו"ם השרים והשרות הכתוב מושלם לפרים ולפרות ולעתודי' כמו (תהילים כ״ב:י״ג) כי סבבוני פרים וכמו (עמוס ד׳:א׳) פרות הבשן אשר בשומרון וכאן מושלם לעתודים:

מכסאותם. שבגיהנם כל מלכי גוים:
כֻּלָּם יַעֲנוּ וְיֹאמְרוּ אֵלֶיךָ גַּם־אַתָּה חֻלֵּיתָ כָמוֹנוּ אֵלֵינוּ נִמְשָֽׁלְתָּ׃

הילל בן שחר. כוכב הנוגה המאיר אור ככוכב הבוקר זו הקינה על שרה של בבל נאמר' שיפול משמים:
נגדעת לארץ. אתה נבוכדנצר שהיית חולש על גוים מטיל גורל עליהם על המלכים מי מהם ישרתך ביום פלוני ומי ביום פלוני ורבותינו דרשוהו שהיה מטיל גורל על המלכים וכו':

כנצר נתעב. כיונק אילן הנתעב בעיני בעליו שחופר ומשרש ומוציאו כך הושלכת מקברך, אמרו חכמים כשנעשה בהמה וחיה ז' שנים המליכו עם הארץ את אויל מרודך וכשחזר למלכותו נטלו וחבשו בבית האסורין עד יום מותו כשמת הוציאו אויל מרודך מבית הסוהר להמליכו ולא קבל עליו אמר אם ישוב למלכותו יהרגני אמרו לו מת ונקבר ולא האמין עד שהוציאוהו מקברו:

כפגר מובס. ת"י מדשדש כמו נבוס קמינו (תלים מד) ועל הרי אבוסנו (כאן כ"ה) מתבוססת בדמיך (יחזקאל טו), הנדוש כטיט חוצות:
לֹֽא־תֵחַד אִתָּם בִּקְבוּרָה כִּי־אַרְצְךָ שִׁחַתָּ עַמְּךָ הָרָגְתָּ לֹא־יִקָּרֵא לְעוֹלָם זֶרַע מְרֵעִֽים׃
Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: may the seed of evildoers nevermore be named.

הכינו לבניו מטבח. לבל יקומו וירשו ארץ, ותמלא הארץ שונאים ומציקים וכן תירגם יונתן בעלי דבבין כמו (שמואל א כ״ח:ט״ז) ויהי ערך, ועוד יש לפתור ומלאו פני תבל ערים כלפי שאמרנו למעלה שם תבל כמדבר ועריו הרס חזר ואמר וכלה זרעו ויחזרו יושבי הערים למקומן ומלאו פני תבל עיירות:
