מַשָּׂא צֹר הֵילִילוּ ׀ אֳנִיּוֹת תַּרְשִׁישׁ כִּֽי־שֻׁדַּד מִבַּיִת מִבּוֹא מֵאֶרֶץ כִּתִּים נִגְלָה־לָֽמוֹ׃
The burden of Żor. Howl, O ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Kittim it is revealed to them.

כי שודד מבית מבוא. כי שודד מבפנים מקום שהייתם רגילין לפונדק מלבוא עוד לתוכו ולא יהיו עוד לכם מקום בצור ללון שם:
מארץ כתים. הם הרומיים:
נגלה למו. השודד לאנשי צור, ד"א מארץ כתים נגלה לאנשי תרשיש שוד של צור שברחו בני צור אצל כתים ומשם נשמעה השמיעה:
דֹּמּוּ יֹשְׁבֵי אִי סֹחֵר צִידוֹן עֹבֵר יָם מִלְאֽוּךְ׃
Be still, O inhabitants of the coastland; thou whom the merchants of Żidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished.

דומו יושבי אי. התאבלו ושבו דומים יושבי אי הים למה סוחרי צידון עוברי ימים היו רגלים למלאותך כל סחורה עכשיו כשתפול צור תפול צידון עמה שסמוכות היו זו לזו בתוך מהלך יום:
וּבְמַיִם רַבִּים זֶרַע שִׁחֹר קְצִיר יְאוֹר תְּבוּאָתָהּ וַתְּהִי סְחַר גּוֹיִֽם׃

ובמים רבים. היה בא זרע ממצרים היושבת על נהר שיחור אל צור:
קציר יאור. מצרים היה תבואה של צור:
שיחור. הוא נילוס שנאמר (יהושע י״ג:ג׳) מן השיחור אשר על פני מצרים והיו מביאים התבואה לצור באניות מצרים:
ותהי. צור:
סחר גוים מעם רב שהיה בה כל הגוים מביאין לה סחורה:
בּוֹשִׁי צִידוֹן כִּֽי־אָמַר יָם מָעוֹז הַיָּם לֵאמֹר לֹא־חַלְתִּי וְלֹֽא־יָלַדְתִּי וְלֹא גִדַּלְתִּי בַּחוּרִים רוֹמַמְתִּי בְתוּלֽוֹת׃
Be thou ashamed, O Żidon: for the sea has spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I have not travailed, nor brought forth children, nor did I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins.

בושי צידון. שטפלה לצור:
כי אמר ים. כי אמרה צור היושבת במעוז הים שהוא עיקר ראש המלכות הריני כמו שלא חלתי ולא ילדתי בחורים כי כולם נהרגו והרי כמו שלא רוממתי בתולות וכן ת"י, ורבותינו אמרו באגדה בושי צידון כי אמר ים מה אני שאין לי בנים ובנות לדאג עליהם שלא יתפשו בעוני איני משנה מצות קוני לעבור גבול חול אשר שם לי על אחת כמה וכמה בושי צידון שיש לך לדאג בכל אלה:
כַּאֲשֶׁר־שֵׁמַע לְמִצְרָיִם יָחִילוּ כְּשֵׁמַע צֹֽר׃

כאשר שמע למצרים. אשר שמעו על מצרים שהבאתי עליהם עשר מכות וסוף טבעו בים:
יחילו. יבהלו:
כשמע. השומעים כשיצא שמע צור כי גם מכותיה של צור יהיו דוגמת אותן מכות, דם ואש (יואל ג׳:ג׳) דוגמת מכת דם, קול שאון מעיר (לקמן סו) זו קרקור הצפרדעים, ונהפכו נחליה לזפת וכו':

הֲזֹאת לָכֶם עַלִּיזָה מִֽימֵי־קֶדֶם קַדְמָתָהּ יֹבִלוּהָ רַגְלֶיהָ מֵרָחוֹק לָגֽוּר׃

יְהֹוָה צְבָאוֹת יְעָצָהּ לְחַלֵּל גְּאוֹן כׇּל־צְבִי לְהָקֵל כׇּל־נִכְבַּדֵּי־אָֽרֶץ׃

אין מזח. אין לך עוד חוזק ואזור לשנס מתני', מזח לשון אזור כמו (תהילים ק״ט:י״ט) ולמזח תמיד יחגרה וכל אזור לשון חוזק:
יָדוֹ נָטָה עַל־הַיָּם הִרְגִּיז מַמְלָכוֹת יְהֹוָה צִוָּה אֶל־כְּנַעַן לַשְׁמִד מָעֻזְנֶֽיהָ׃

ה' צוה אל כנען. צוה את קוראיו על כנען:
לשמיד. כמו להשמיד וכן ללכת לגיד ביזרעאל (מלכים כט) כמו להגיד וכן לשמיע קול תודה (תהלים כו) כמו להשמיע:
מעזניה. צור וצידון משל כנען היו כמו שנא' את צידון בכורו:
וַיֹּאמֶר לֹא־תוֹסִיפִי עוֹד לַעְלוֹז הַֽמְעֻשָּׁקָה בְּתוּלַת בַּת־צִידוֹן (כתיים) [כִּתִּים] קוּמִי עֲבֹרִי גַּם־שָׁם לֹא־יָנוּחַֽ לָֽךְ׃
And he said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, O thou oppressed virgin, daughter of Żidon: arise, pass over to Kittim; there also shalt thou have no rest.

הֵן ׀ אֶרֶץ כַּשְׂדִּים זֶה הָעָם לֹא הָיָה אַשּׁוּר יְסָדָהּ לְצִיִּים הֵקִימוּ (בחיניו) [בַחוּנָיו] עֽוֹרְרוּ אַרְמְנוֹתֶיהָ שָׂמָהּ לְמַפֵּלָֽה׃

הן ארץ כשדים זה העם לא היה. אשר לא כדאי הוא להיות עם שהרי נקראו הגוי המר והנמהר (חבקוק א׳:ו׳) עם שוטה הוא מן הבריות שהקב"ה מתחרט עליהן על שבראם כמו ששנינו שלשה הקב"ה מתחרט עליהם במסכת סוכה:
אשור יסדה. להשכין בה ציים שלו ספינותיו בירניות גדולות כמו צי אדיר (לקמן לג):
הקימו בחוניו. הם יקימו מצודותיהם על צור, בחוניו ל' עופל ובוחן (לקמן לב) בורפריי"ץ בלע"ז שעושין למצור על הכרכים:
עוררו ארמנותיה. יחריבו ל' ערו ערו (תהילים קל״ז:ז׳) ל' נתיצה עד היסוד:
הֵילִילוּ אֳנִיּוֹת תַּרְשִׁישׁ כִּי שֻׁדַּד מָעֻזְּכֶֽן׃ {ס}
