הוֹי הַמַּעֲמִיקִים מֵיְהֹוָה לַסְתִּר עֵצָה וְהָיָה בְמַחְשָׁךְ מַֽעֲשֵׂיהֶם וַיֹּאמְרוּ מִי רֹאֵנוּ וּמִי יֹֽדְעֵֽנוּ׃
Woe to them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the Lord, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who sees us? and who knows us?

הַפְכְּכֶם אִם־כְּחֹמֶר הַיֹּצֵר יֵחָשֵׁב כִּֽי־יֹאמַר מַעֲשֶׂה לְעֹשֵׂהוּ לֹא עָשָׂנִי וְיֵצֶר אָמַר לְיֹצְרוֹ לֹא הֵבִֽין׃
O your perverseness! shall the potter be esteemed as the clay? for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?

הפככם אם כחומר היוצר יחשב. תהפוכות שלכם הזאת אתם יודעים שהוא כחומר היוצר שאין החומר יכול לומר לעושהו לא עשאני כך אינכם יכולין לומר שאיני מבין מעשיכם:
כחומר וגו'. ל' תמיה הוא ויש תמיהות המתקיימות:
לעושהו. כמו על עושהו ודוגמתו ואמר פרעה לבני ישראל (שמות יד), פן יאמרו לי אשה הרגתהו (שופטי' ט):
ויצר אמר ליוצרו לא הבין. אמר על יוצרו לא הבין מה ביצרו והלא הוא בנה את המטמוניו' והחדרי' והמחשבות:
הֲלוֹא־עוֹד מְעַט מִזְעָר וְשָׁב לְבָנוֹן לַכַּרְמֶל וְהַכַּרְמֶל לַיַּעַר יֵחָשֵֽׁב׃
Is it not yet a very little while, and Levanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be regarded as a forest?

הלא עוד מעט. בימים מועטין נקל בעיני אם תשובו אלי:
ושב לבנון. שהוא יער עצים להיות כרמל וישוב שדות וכרמים:
והכרמל ליער יחשב. תירגם יונתן קירוין סגיאין יתיב ואגדה בבראשית רבה חורשין דבר אינש ישוב ערים ובני אדם רצוף ומלא כיער הזה שהוא מלא עצים:
וְשָׁמְעוּ בַיּוֹם־הַהוּא הַחֵרְשִׁים דִּבְרֵי־סֵפֶר וּמֵאֹפֶל וּמֵחֹשֶׁךְ עֵינֵי עִוְרִים תִּרְאֶֽינָה׃
And on that day shall the deaf hear the words of a book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.

ושמעו ביום ההוא וגו'. ותיבטל הקללה האמורה למעל' כי נסך ה' עליכם וגו' ותהי לכם חזות הכל ואבדה חכמת חכמיו:
וְיָסְפוּ עֲנָוִים בַּֽיהֹוָה שִׂמְחָה וְאֶבְיוֹנֵי אָדָם בִּקְדוֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל יָגִֽילוּ׃
The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord, and the poorest among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Yisra᾽el.

ענוים. סבלנים שסבלו עולו של הקב"ה וגזרותיו:
כִּי־אָפֵס עָרִיץ וְכָלָה לֵץ וְנִכְרְתוּ כׇּל־שֹׁקְדֵי אָֽוֶן׃

כל שוקדי און. השוקדים ומתבוננים היאך יפעלו און:
מַחֲטִיאֵי אָדָם בְּדָבָר וְלַמּוֹכִיחַ בַּשַּׁעַר יְקֹשׁוּן וַיַּטּוּ בַתֹּהוּ צַדִּֽיק׃ {פ}
