כִּי כֹה אָמַר יְהֹוָה אָנוּשׁ לְשִׁבְרֵךְ נַחְלָה מַכָּתֵֽךְ׃
For thus says the Lord, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous.

אֵֽין־דָּן דִּינֵךְ לְמָזוֹר רְפֻאוֹת תְּעָלָה אֵין לָֽךְ׃
There is none to take up thy case, to bind up the wound: thou hast no healing medicines.

כׇּל־מְאַהֲבַיִךְ שְׁכֵחוּךְ אוֹתָךְ לֹא יִדְרֹשׁוּ כִּי מַכַּת אוֹיֵב הִכִּיתִיךְ מוּסַר אַכְזָרִי עַל רֹב עֲוֺנֵךְ עָצְמוּ חַטֹּאתָֽיִךְ׃
All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thy iniquity; thy sins were increased.

מוסר אכזרי. ייסורי אכזריות המוסר אכזרי הוא:
מַה־תִּזְעַק עַל־שִׁבְרֵךְ אָנוּשׁ מַכְאֹבֵךְ עַל ׀ רֹב עֲוֺנֵךְ עָֽצְמוּ חַטֹּאתַיִךְ עָשִׂיתִי אֵלֶּה לָֽךְ׃
Why criest thou for thy hurt, that thy sorrow is incurable? for the multitude of thy iniquity, because thy sins were increased, I have done these things to thee.

שאסיך למשסה. לשון ביזה וכת"י ויהון עדיך לעדי:
כִּי אַעֲלֶה אֲרֻכָה לָךְ וּמִמַּכּוֹתַיִךְ אֶרְפָּאֵךְ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָה כִּי נִדָּחָה קָרְאוּ לָךְ צִיּוֹן הִיא דֹּרֵשׁ אֵין לָֽהּ׃ {ס}
