וָֽאֹמַר אֲהָהּ ׀ אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה אָכֵן הַשֵּׁא הִשֵּׁאתָ לָעָם הַזֶּה וְלִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִם לֵאמֹר שָׁלוֹם יִהְיֶה לָכֶם וְנָגְעָה חֶרֶב עַד־הַנָּֽפֶשׁ׃
Then said I, Ah, Lord God surely Thou hast greatly deceived this people and Yerushalayim, saying, You shall have peace; whereas the sword reaches to the soul.

בָּעֵת הַהִיא יֵאָמֵר לָעָם־הַזֶּה וְלִירוּשָׁלַ͏ִם רוּחַ צַח שְׁפָיִם בַּמִּדְבָּר דֶּרֶךְ בַּת־עַמִּי לוֹא לִזְרוֹת וְלוֹא לְהָבַֽר׃

לעם הזה. על העם הזה כשיגלו כולם:
צח שפים. מכבד ומטאטא אף את שדות יבלי המים לשיתם מדבר, ל"א צח ל' צמא דמתרגמינן צחותא:
דרך בת עמי. אותו רוח בא וגם לא לזרות מוץ מגורן אהבוניי"ר בלעז כמו ויזרם במזרה (לקמן כא):
ולא להבר. ולנקות תבואה הוא בא כלומר לא לטובה כי אם לרעה להגלות את אנשים (ונשים) טף ובהמה:
רוּחַ מָלֵא מֵאֵלֶּה יָבוֹא לִי עַתָּה גַּם־אֲנִי אֲדַבֵּר מִשְׁפָּטִים אוֹתָֽם׃

הִנֵּה ׀ כַּעֲנָנִים יַעֲלֶה וְכַסּוּפָה מַרְכְּבוֹתָיו קַלּוּ מִנְּשָׁרִים סוּסָיו אוֹי לָנוּ כִּי שֻׁדָּֽדְנוּ׃

כַּבְּסִי מֵרָעָה לִבֵּךְ יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם לְמַעַן תִּוָּשֵׁעִי עַד־מָתַי תָּלִין בְּקִרְבֵּךְ מַחְשְׁבוֹת אוֹנֵֽךְ׃

הַזְכִּירוּ לַגּוֹיִם הִנֵּה הַשְׁמִיעוּ עַל־יְרוּשָׁלַ͏ִם נֹצְרִים בָּאִים מֵאֶרֶץ הַמֶּרְחָק וַֽיִּתְּנוּ עַל־עָרֵי יְהוּדָה קוֹלָֽם׃
Make mention to the nations; behold, publish against Yerushalayim, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Yehuda.
