לֶאֱדוֹם כֹּה אָמַר יְהֹוָה צְבָאוֹת הַאֵין עוֹד חׇכְמָה בְּתֵימָן אָבְדָה עֵצָה מִבָּנִים נִסְרְחָה חׇכְמָתָֽם׃
Concerning Edom, thus says the Lord of hosts; Is wisdom no more in Teman? has counsel perished from the prudent? has their wisdom vanished?

נֻסוּ הׇפְנוּ הֶעְמִיקוּ לָשֶׁבֶת יֹשְׁבֵי דְּדָן כִּי אֵיד עֵשָׂו הֵבֵאתִי עָלָיו עֵת פְּקַדְתִּֽיו׃
Flee, turn back, dwell in the deeps, O inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of ῾Esav upon him, the time when I punish him.

הפנו. התבערו מן המקום הזה לשון ופנו את הבית (ויקרא יד):
העמיקו לשבת. להחבא בעמקי מסתרים נוסו הפנו העמיקו. כולם לשון צווי הם:
אִם־בֹּֽצְרִים בָּאוּ לָךְ לֹא יַשְׁאִרוּ עוֹלֵלוֹת אִם־גַּנָּבִים בַּלַּיְלָה הִשְׁחִיתוּ דַיָּֽם׃

אם בוצרים באו לך. חשפתי את וגו' שמועה שמעתי וגו' כל כעין דוגמא זו נבא עובדיה על אדום ולפי שסיגנון אחד עולה לכמה נביאים ואין שני נביאים מתנבאים בסיגנון אחד במקצת הדברים משתנין:
לא ישאירו עוללות. בתמיה והשודדים שבאו עליך לא השאירו לך כלום:
כִּֽי־אֲנִי חָשַׂפְתִּי אֶת־עֵשָׂו גִּלֵּיתִי אֶת־מִסְתָּרָיו וְנֶחְבָּה לֹא יוּכָל שֻׁדַּד זַרְעוֹ וְאֶחָיו וּשְׁכֵנָיו וְאֵינֶֽנּוּ׃
But I have stripped ῾Esav bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is plundered, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he himself is no more.

חשפתי. גליתי כמו מחשוף הלבן (בראשית ל׳:ל״ז) ואתה הסגרת שרידי למען לא ישאר מהם איש כמה שנאמר אל תסגר שרידיו (עובדיה א׳:י״ד):
ונחבה לא יוכל. ויבקש להחבא ולא יוכל:
עׇזְבָה יְתֹמֶיךָ אֲנִי אֲחַיֶּה וְאַלְמְנוֹתֶיךָ עָלַי תִּבְטָֽחוּ׃ {ס}
