25:12

כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה יַעַן עֲשׂוֹת אֱדוֹם בִּנְקֹם נָקָם לְבֵית יְהוּדָה וַיֶּאְשְׁמוּ אָשׁוֹם וְנִקְּמוּ בָהֶֽם׃

Thus says the Lord God; Because Edom has dealt against the house of Yehuda by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;

לָכֵן כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה וְנָטִתִי יָדִי עַל־אֱדוֹם וְהִכְרַתִּי מִמֶּנָּה אָדָם וּבְהֵמָה וּנְתַתִּיהָ חׇרְבָּה מִתֵּימָן וּדְדָנֶה בַּחֶרֶב יִפֹּֽלוּ׃

therefore thus says the Lord God; I will also stretch out my hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.

וְנָתַתִּי אֶת־נִקְמָתִי בֶּאֱדוֹם בְּיַד עַמִּי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְעָשׂוּ בֶאֱדוֹם כְּאַפִּי וְכַחֲמָתִי וְיָֽדְעוּ אֶת־נִקְמָתִי נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִֽה׃

And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Yisra᾽el: and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, says the Lord God.

את כרתים. עמא דחייבין לאישתיצאה ואומר אני לפי שראיתי במקום אחר קורא אל פלשתים כרתים היו יושבי חבל הים גוי כרתים (צפניה ב׳:ה׳) ואינו קורא כן לאומה אחרת נראה בעיני שיש גבול בפלשתים ששמו כרתי וכן אני מוצא בספר (שמואל (א' ל') בגדוד ששרף את צקלג אנחנו פשטנו על נגב הכרתי:

חוף הים. מארק"א בלע"ז הם פלשתים שיושבים במקצוע דרומית מערבית של גבול ארץ ישראל על הים האחרון:

25:17

וְעָשִׂיתִי בָם נְקָמוֹת גְּדֹלוֹת בְּתוֹכְחוֹת חֵמָה וְיָֽדְעוּ כִּֽי־אֲנִי יְהֹוָה בְּתִתִּי אֶת־נִקְמָתִי בָּֽם׃ {פ}

and I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.
