כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה כִּשְׂמֹחַ כׇּל־הָאָרֶץ שְׁמָמָה אֶעֱשֶׂה־לָּֽךְ׃
Thus says the Lord God; When the whole earth rejoices, I will make thee desolate.

כְּשִׂמְחָתְךָ לְנַחֲלַת בֵּֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵל עַל אֲשֶׁר־שָׁמֵמָה כֵּן אֶעֱשֶׂה־לָּךְ שְׁמָמָה תִהְיֶה הַר־שֵׂעִיר וְכׇל־אֱדוֹם כֻּלָּהּ וְיָדְעוּ כִּי־אֲנִי יְהֹוָֽה׃ {פ}
As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Yisra᾽el because it was desolate, so will I do to thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Se῾ir, and all Edom, all of it: and they shall know that I am the Lord.
