כָּרַע בֵּל קֹרֵס נְבוֹ הָיוּ עֲצַבֵּיהֶם לַחַיָּה וְלַבְּהֵמָה נְשֻׂאֹתֵיכֶם עֲמוּסוֹת מַשָּׂא לַעֲיֵפָֽה׃
Bel bows down, Nevo stoops, their idols were upon the beasts, and upon the cattle; the things you carry are laden as a burden on the weary beast.

כרע בל קורס נבו. אישקרופי"ר בל קונקיא"ה נבו כך שמעתי משמו של רבינו גרשום מאור הגולה:
היו עצביהם. צלמי צורתם של בל ונבו היו לחיה ולבהמה נדמו להיות כחיה וכבהמה שמזהימין ומלכלכין עצמן ברעי שלהם:
נשואותיכם עמוסות משא. רעי שבמעיהם כבדות הם לעמוס כמשא לאדם עיף לפיכך קרסו כרעו יחדיו הקריסה עם הכריעה:
קָרְסוּ כָֽרְעוּ יַחְדָּו לֹא יָכְלוּ מַלֵּט מַשָּׂא וְנַפְשָׁם בַּשְּׁבִי הָלָֽכָה׃ {פ}

לא יכלו מלט משא. להפליט הצואה שבמעיהם כשאר המוציאין כהוגן:
מלט. ל' הוצאה ממקום בלוע וכן (לעיל לד) שמה קננה קפוז ותמלט, הוציאה ביצתה וכן (לקמן סו) והמליטה זכר ויונתן לא תירגם כן המקראות הללו:

העמוסים מני בטן. מאז נולדתם בבית לבן הארמי עמסתי אתכם על זרועותי כי מאז עמדו עליכם עכו"ם בכל דור ודור ולא כעכו"ם שהיו עומסים ונושאים את אלהיהם כמו שאמור למעלה אבל אתם עמוסים ונשואים בזרועותי:
וְעַד־זִקְנָה אֲנִי הוּא וְעַד־שֵׂיבָה אֲנִי אֶסְבֹּל אֲנִי עָשִׂיתִי וַאֲנִי אֶשָּׂא וַאֲנִי אֶסְבֹּל וַאֲמַלֵּֽט׃ {ס}

ועד זקנה. אשר זקנתם וכלה כחכם שאין לכם זכות אני הוא ברחמי ובמדת טובי להושיעכם ולעמוס ולשאת למלט לפי שאמר על יראתם שהיא נסבלת וגם משאה אינה יכולה למלט אמר אני הסובל אחרים ואת משאם אמלט:
לְמִי תְדַמְּיוּנִי וְתַשְׁווּ וְתַמְשִׁלוּנִי וְנִדְמֶֽה׃

קֹרֵא מִמִּזְרָח עַיִט מֵאֶרֶץ מֶרְחָק אִישׁ (עצתו) [עֲצָתִי] אַף־דִּבַּרְתִּי אַף־אֲבִיאֶנָּה יָצַרְתִּי אַף־אֶעֱשֶֽׂנָּה׃ {ס}
