אִם־תָּשׁוּב יִשְׂרָאֵל ׀ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָה אֵלַי תָּשׁוּב וְאִם־תָּסִיר שִׁקּוּצֶיךָ מִפָּנַי וְלֹא תָנֽוּד׃
If thou wilt return, O Yisra᾽el, says the Lord, return to me: and if thou wilt put away thy abominations out of my sight, without wavering,

ואם תסיר שקוציך מפני. אז לא תנוד לצאת בגולה:
וְנִשְׁבַּעְתָּ חַי־יְהֹוָה בֶּאֱמֶת בְּמִשְׁפָּט וּבִצְדָקָה וְהִתְבָּרְכוּ בוֹ גּוֹיִם וּבוֹ יִתְהַלָּֽלוּ׃ {ס}
and wilt swear, As the Lord lives, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; then the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.

ונשבעת חי ה' באמת. כשתשבע בשמי תשבע באמת ולא כאשר עתה שכתוב בכם (לקמן ה) אם חי ה' יאמרו אכן לשקר ישבעו:
והתברכו בו גוים. אם תעשו כן אז יתברכו בישראל הגוים כל גוי יאמר לבנו תהא כפלוני ישראל:
יתהללו. יגידו שבחכם ד"א יתהללו מי שיוכל להדבק בישראל יתפאר בדבר פורוונטי"ר בלעז:
אם תשוב ישראל. בתשובה זו אלי תשוב לכבודך וגדולתך הראשונה:
